Brandon Thompson

Brandon Thompson has been composing for eight years, has worked on well-known shows such as Survivor, Ghost Hunters, and Beyond Scared Straight, and has won five ASACP awards. An impressive resume for any composer, but what is most impressive is Brandon accomplished all this while working for Vanacore Music. But Brandon has had a long history in music that led him to his current career as one of Vanacore Music’s top composers. Originally from Illinois, Brandon has been playing music since he was a kid and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston where he earned a Bachelor degree in Film Scoring. Brandon then spent nearly five years working in the Film Scoring department before moving to New York City to attend graduate school at NYU and get a Master degree in Composition. While in school, Brandon began working as a music editor on shows like ABC’s One Life to Live and the music advertising company, Music Beast. After getting he graduated NYU, Brandon moved to Los Angeles (on a bit of a whim) and got an amazing opportunity when his phone rang and one of his former students asked if he would like to work for ‘The King of Reality,’ David Vanacore. Despite never having watched a reality television show before, Brandon jumped at the chance and started composing for David (and making him cappuccinos) and has never looked back. Brandon is now the VP of Production for Vanacore Music and manages all the shows Vanacore works on (as well as all the composers working on those shows) on top of composing himself! As one of the people with David from the beginning, Brandon has been an integral part in making Vanacore Music what it is today. And he would not have it any other way because for Brandon, he is now living his dream every day.
